How to Use Washproof Plasters
- Ensure you have clean hands before attending to any injury.
- Gently clean and dry the wound area using clean, running water or sterile wound wash. Use tweezers to remove debris from the wound but never put tweezers inside a wound to remove something. If something is embedded in the wound, you will need to be seen by a medical professional.
- Expose the plaster's central pad by peeling back the two pieces of backing paper and line this up over the centre of the wound.
- Carefully peel away the backing paper and press down on the adhesive edges firmly to ensure a complete seal.
